Portimão, Portugal - The Audi MedCup circuit is complete, and the racing in Portugal this past week witnessed the victory of the Portugal Cup, and the overall Med Cup, by team Quantum Racing and Terry Hutchinson.  Said Hutchinson on his feelings about the win: "It is just over the top. This rivals the feeling we had when we won the Louis Vuitton Cup, it is a great team effort without question. I am incredibly proud of everything that we have done this summer, but now, it is a little bit of a relief."

Corsica, France - A luxury yacht was attacked by pirates on Sunday near Porto-Vecchio (Corse-du-Sud), off the French island of Corsica, according to the gendarmerie. Caliari, Sardinia - It was an extraordinary week's sailing as the Audi MedCup wrapped up in Caliari for the Region of Sardinia Trophy Regatta.   With a variety of conditions, including warm sea breezes and the cold Mistrals, the courses were challenging, and the races often tight to the finish as the TransPac 52's battled it out in 10 races over the last five days.  In the end, Quantum took this third regatta and is squarely in first place overall for the 2008 MedCup series.

The 5th edition of HUBLOT PalmaVela came to a successful conclusion on Sunday after 3 days of close and intense races on the waters of the Palma bay off the island of Mallorca. The more than 1,800 sailors, representing 16 countries and more than 230 boats tested their skills in the popular regatta.
