Posted July 24th, 2009 by ShantiWhat a difference a day makes. After two days of beating into the wind and waves, I had a beautiful sail from Port Dover, Ontario to Erie, PA. Lake Erie settled down quite nicely after several days of westerly wind gave way to light wind from the east. Weatherfax - Make Your OwnBoating and Sailing News - 03 Jan 2008First off, there is no tin can involved. I started calling it “tin-can” because it was so simple it reminded me of two tin-cans on a string, but you will need neither the cans nor the string. What you will need are a computer, a piece of software (free to try), a shortwave radio with SSB, and a cable to connect the radio to the computer. Read Complete Article |
